Finding the Answers in the Numbers
When I took my first accounting class in Grade 11, something just clicked. I realized I could turn my love of math and puzzles into a career—one where every problem had a solution. That clarity drew me in early, and after another accounting course in Grade 12, I knew I had found the right fit. Numbers made sense in a way that words often didn’t, and accounting gave me a way to bring structure and insight to the table.
A Bit About My Journey
I joined Hendry Warren as a co-op student, and that experience gave me a genuine appreciation for the variety of work here and the opportunity to grow. After graduating from the University of Ottawa in 2020 with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, I joined the firm full-time in 2021 and earned my CPA designation in 2023. Today, I manage assurance engagements and help train new staff, which is especially meaningful to me, given that I started my own career here as a student.
What Matters to Me
To me, good accounting is about more than just accuracy; it’s about problem-solving, learning, and helping others succeed. I love that every file has a challenge to tackle and a clear path to resolution. And whether I’m working with clients or mentoring students, I try to bring that same clarity, support, and structure to every interaction.
Life Outside the Office
Outside of work, I’m usually listening to music, enjoying the outdoors, or spending time with family and friends. I’m also involved in the firm’s social committee, which provides another opportunity to help foster connections and community at work.
