A Passion for Tax, A Commitment to Clients
The government says everyone should pay their fair share in taxes, and I agree. But my definition of “fair” might be a little different. I take pride in helping individuals and business owners navigate Canada’s complex tax system while uncovering opportunities to minimize their overall burden. For me, tax planning isn’t just technical, it’s personal. The stakes are high, and getting it right really matters to our clients.
A Bit About My Journey
After graduating from Carleton University with Highest Honours in 2008, I joined HW Partners and obtained my CA designation the following year. I completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course in 2013 and have built my career by helping clients tackle challenges such as estate planning, corporate reorganizations, case-specific tax research, and audit representation. Today, I’m proud to be a Tax Partner and part of a team that delivers practical and effective strategies across various industries.
What Matters to Me
I work with a diverse client base, from entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses to families and multi-generational enterprises. My focus is always on delivering clear, tailored advice that empowers people to make informed decisions.
I also have a passion for sharing knowledge. I serve as the Course Coordinator and a lecturer for CPA Canada’s Income Tax for the General Practitioner course, training CPAs across the country. I’m a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Ottawa Estate Planning Council. I had the honour of being named one of Ottawa’s Forty Under 40 in 2024 as well as a CPA Ontario Emerging Leader in 2018.
Life Outside the Office
When I’m not diving into tax legislation, you’ll find me spending time with my two favourite things: family and sports. I coach a variety of sports including basketball, tackle and flag football and baseball. In 2019, I helped launch a T-ball program through the Corkery Community Association, which has since grown into a thriving league for kids in the community. I also serve as Treasurer of the Association, another way I stay connected to my community and give back.
