A Career Rooted in Relationships and Financial Empowerment
I have been privileged to work with a dynamic group of people. Between the wonderful partners, excellent staff, and the diverse small business and not-for-profit clients, there was always something interesting and rewarding going on.
A Bit About My Journey
After graduating from Carleton University, I began my career in accounting with a strong interest in helping small business owners and not-for-profit organizations thrive. I obtained my Chartered Accountant designation in 1993 and subsequently earned my Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1999, further enhancing my ability to assist clients with both their immediate tax needs and long-term financial objectives.
I joined Hendry Warren at its founding in 2002 and became a Partner in 2004. In addition to advising clients, I oversaw the administrative operations of the firm, helping to shape our collaborative and responsive internal culture. The opportunity to grow alongside the company now known as HW Partners and contribute to its evolution has been one of the great honours of my career.
What Matters To Me
Client service has always been at the heart of my work. I’ve drawn on my extensive experience to help individuals and businesses manage their finances, meet CRA obligations, and plan for their futures. Whether working with an entrepreneur, a charitable organization, or a family navigating personal tax planning, I’ve always prioritized practical solutions that empower clients and give them peace of mind. Working in an environment where every day brings new questions and challenges kept me engaged, and collaborating with such a dedicated team made it all the more rewarding.
Life Outside the Office
Beyond the office, I’ve always believed in giving back to the community. I’ve contributed time and leadership to organizations such as the Lisgar Alumni Association, Dress for Success Ottawa, and the Women’s Business Network. I currently serve as Treasurer for Interval House of Ottawa, supporting women and children fleeing violence. I continue to stay connected to the causes and people that have shaped my journey, and I’m grateful to have built a career that allowed me to merge professional purpose with personal values.
