Numbers Brought Me Here. People Keep Me Here.
A love for numbers and problem-solving led me to a career in public accounting, but it’s the people I work with, both clients and colleagues, who’ve made this career so rewarding. I thrive on helping entrepreneurs and new business owners navigate those early days and big decisions, and I take pride in building long-term relationships that grow right alongside their businesses.
A Bit About My Journey
I got my first taste of public accounting while working summers at a local firm in my hometown of Cochrane, Ontario. I loved the diversity of the work, especially the chance to meet clients from remote communities and industries I hadn’t been exposed to before. When I landed my first co-op placement with HW Partners, I knew I’d found the right fit. It felt like home from the very first day.
I joined HW full-time in 2014 after graduating from the University of Ottawa, earned my CPA designation in 2016, and became a Partner in 2023. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to deepen my expertise in assurance and tax while helping business owners reach new milestones and feel confident in their financial decisions.
What Matters to Me
I care deeply about making clients feel supported and understood, especially when they’re just starting. Launching or growing a business comes with a lot of unknowns, and I love being the person who can help bring clarity, structure, and reassurance to that journey.
Life Outside the Office
Giving back has always been important to me. I’ve been involved with several community organizations, including the Kiwanis Club and the Heron Emergency Food Centre. Today, I serve as Chair of the Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice, an organization I’m incredibly proud to support. When I’m not at work or volunteering, I spend time with my family, explore Ottawa, or catch up with friends, often with a coffee in hand.
