A Profession That Just Clicked
When you know, you know, and for me, that moment came during my first high school accounting class. Add in an inspiring university professor, and I was completely sold. Accounting felt like the perfect combination of structure, challenge, and opportunity. However, it wasn’t until my co-op terms with HW Partners that everything truly fell into place. That’s when I could picture my future in public accounting, and I’ve been building on that ever since.
A Bit About My Journey
I joined HW Partners as a co-op student in 2011 while completing my studies at Dalhousie University. I joined the company full-time in 2014, obtained my CA designation in 2016, and became a Partner in 2023. I’m a proud member of CPA Ontario and CPA Canada, and even more proud of the long-term relationships I’ve built with the clients and colleagues who’ve been part of my journey.
What Matters to Me
I thrive on taking a project from concept to completion, solving problems, delivering clarity, and creating results clients can feel confident about. At Hendry Warren, I focus on client-centred assurance and advisory services, bringing structure and insight to what can sometimes feel like a moving target. Equally important is the mentoring I get to do with our team, coaching junior staff, designing onboarding experiences, and helping shape a positive learning environment across the firm.
I’m especially proud to have helped develop “Hendry Warren University,” a series of orientation and training videos for new staff. This initiative supports our culture of continuous learning and ensures a consistent, thoughtful experience for every new hire.
Life Outside the Office
I serve on the board of the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation, where I help support healthcare in our local community, something I care deeply about. In 2022, I was honoured to be named a finalist for Ottawa’s Businesswoman of the Year awards, a milestone that reflects the firm’s values and the people I work alongside every day.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, discovering new local restaurants, and spending time with my family and friends. Whether I’m planning a weekend getaway or curled up with a book, I try to bring the same balance and joy to my personal life that I bring to my work.
